amazing concept, i only wish i could finish it. last couple of fish are just too hard to catch, i lost the will to keep trying when no matter what i did, it would just randomly fly outside the circle, and the meter would just drop. any progress i made was instantly gone and i was left even further than where i was over something i had absolutely no control over. i love the concept, as i said. but where it stands, i dont want to spend the next half hour or longer just hoping the game allows me the good luck to catch them. sorry i couldnt finish it.
thanks for making the game in the first place!! I would be super happy to give it another go if you ever update it, maybe adding an easy mode or make the fish movement a tiny bit less erratic or something?? I'll definitely be keeping an eye out on what you and the rest of the team work on tho. This game taps into a weird otherworldly thalassophobia and I love it. Keep up the awesome work <3
No spoilers about what happens in the game, only comments on mechanics:
I was really enjoying the game and thought it was a creepy yet fun experience where I'm fishing in a cursed ocean. But my enjoyment turned to rage when I started attempting to catch the last fish. I was trying for 30 minutes and could not manage to catch it. I tried anticipating the moments where it will just randomly shoot out into a random direction, I tried just moving my mouse in circles, I tried everything and I could not catch the last fish. I think this game is a great experience up until that fish.
The two solutions I can think of to fix it is to one, just make its movements less erratic and easier to anticipate or two, lower the rate at which the meter decreases while the fish is out of the circle. I felt that the fish would just shoot really far out of the circle at random and I wouldn't have enough time to get it all the way back in because the meter would decrease so fast. This game was super cool but I feel like it's a bad sign when a horror game turns from fascination and fear to frustration.
I'm sorry if I seem so harsh with the last fish I do not intend to bash you as a developer in anyway because I truly did enjoy this game and its aesthetic a whole boat load (pun intended). The fish designs and the sounds they made when I caught them really freaked me out. The changes in the ocean as I caught more fish was another really good, unsettling detail. You made a real good horror experience, but that last fish was just way too difficult. That is my only criticism.
thanks a lot for your feedback sadly it would be a little too difficult to implement for our programmer as he is working on another project right now, I'm happy you liked the setting + vibe of our game tho :) - art director
this game is terrible i can’t catch anything no matter which way i *move my mouse. reel depletes way faster than it reels the fish in. terrible terrible terrible.
EDIT; for some reason a while after posting this the fish became much more docile and easier to catch? must have been a bug where the fish moved too much
EDIT 2: this bug seems to be on and off. the fish either stay in the circle or move so much it is quite literally impossible for me to keep them still. not fun
Aesthetics and sound design really nice. I think it's an interesting idea that just doesn't have enough development in it. Having a poem at the end in silence to put context for everything kind of dampened on the storytelling for me. Also the final fish is a little too obnoxious to catch for my taste. I know its meant to be on purpose I imagine, but I think the pacing and mood is a bit shifted when spending so long on the fish.
I think for the short time it had in development it's really neat!
Really cool aesthetic and nice idea. Short, but also shocking story. (The fishies are pretty tough to catch, maybe could be made a little easier, but it might just be a skill issue on my side)
I CAUGHT MY GIRLFRIEND!! I wanted a tuna but this game turned me off! Succubus of a mermaid! From a boat trip I found myself married and with a child...I gave her a squid as a ring.

Líbil se mi art style jak svině, mělo to úžasnou atmosféru, akorát mě naštval potrat na konci.
